Theodosia Burr Chapter of DAR fills Veterans Emergency Food Pantry
Veterans can face an array of challenges as they transition from active duty to civilian life. Food insecurity is especially prevalent among veterans who are homeless, at risk for homelessness, and those recently moving into transitional or supportive housing. Studies have shown that addressing food insecurity at this point of need is both safe and effective. Theodosia Burr Chapter members take pleasure in helping to meet their need.
On Saturday August 15, members of the Theodosia Burr, NSDAR and the Long Bay Chapter, CAR of Myrtle Beach met together to collect critical food and essential needs for the Ralph H Johnson VA Emergency Food Pantry in Charleston, SC.
Two completely filled SUV’s delivered the donations on Monday, August 17th to the Food Pantry.
Volunteers from the Food Pantry were there to accept the much needed donations.
